LECG LLC sued Sanjay Unni, claiming it was owed payment for services rendered.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
LECG was in the business of providing consulting services for law firms, corporations, and government agencies. On April 24, 2006, LECG and Unni entered into an agreement where Unni would provide expert consulting services to LECG clients, in exchange for compensation of $275,000 per year.
However, Unni later resigned from his position. At the time he resigned, Unni owed LECG $400,000 for the unearned portion of two advance bonus payments. Plaintiff claimed Unni failed to repay any portion of this amount.
Result
The court granted summary judgment for LECG, awarding it $366,790.
