PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff filed a complaint against defendants, alleging violation of civil rights, assault and battery, false imprisonment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Plaintiffs contended that two sheriff's deputies illegally searched the garage of his home and arrested him for weapons-related crimes they personally knew he did not commit.
DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
The deputies contended that their actions were reasonable under the circumstances.
Result
Plaintiffs settled with the County of Los Angeles for $49,000.
