On May 12, 2014, plaintiff Alina Shahbazian, was shopping at a Golden Farms Market Plaza Inc. store when she slipped and fell.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff contended she slipped and fell on the floor, which was wet. Plaintiff claimed that defendant negligently maintained the premises and there was no warning sign of dangerous condition.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendant claimed no negligence and no dangerous condition. The store was opened at 8:30 a.m. and plaintiff checked out at 8:43 a.m.

Plaintiff demanded $175,000. Defendant offered $15,000.

Injuries
Plaintiff was 7 1/2 months pregnant. She had a possible hairline fracture of her pelvis. Plaintiff had to choose a C-section instead of a natural birth. In addition to the alleged fractured pelvis, plaintiff claimed low back injury and underwent chiropractic treatment and pain management procedures that included two rounds of facet injections under fluoroscopy.
Result
The jury found in favor of the defense.
