PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Maher alleged that the city's department training academy forced her out of the program. She claimed that the academy allowed male examinees to improve after receiving scores below 80 percent, but that the department did not allow her the same.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
The defendant asserted that Maher did not meet the department's standards and denied plaintiff's allegations.
