On May 28, 2009, Ursula Schultz was driving into a parking space, which was located in front of a parked car in which Tiffany Lockett was sitting. The rear right wheel of the car hit the front bumper of Lockett's vehicle. As a result, Lockett filed suit against Schulz and the vehicle's owner, Michael Apte, alleging negligent operation of motor vehicle and vicarious liability.
