Facts

Attorney Alan Liker sued Dawn Arnall, the widow of Ameriquest Mortgage Co. founder and ex-U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands, Roland Arnall, regarding a fee dispute relating to the work Liker performed to get the Arnalls out of tax liabilities for their investments in the North Sea. Arnall filed a countersuit claiming that Liker's work was not worth the money she paid him.

Result

The jury determined that Liker was entitled to $4.87 million for the value of services provided to Arnall. The Court has not yet entered judgment and is considering post-verdict briefing regarding issues including how to reflect the $1.64 million already paid to plaintiff for his services.
