Norma Angulo and Robert Jones sued the County of Los Angeles and the Sheriff's Department in connection with the death of Robert C. Jones. Angulo and Jones were the decedent's parents.
Contentions
PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
On March 24, 2012, the decedent was incarcerated at Peter J. Pitchess Correctional Facility in Castaic. The night of April 1, he told the sheriff's department guards that he was experiencing chest pains. Plaintiff contended the guards ignored his complaints, and sent him back to his bunk. The following morning, his chest pain persisted. Later the decedent collapsed, and began having seizures. The decedent died shortly after.
Result
Summary judgment in favor of the county. The motion was unopposed.
