On March 19, 1997, the plaintiff, a 54-year-old doctor on disability, was walking when she was struck by defendant's automobile at her left knee, knocking plaintiff to the ground. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on negligence.

Settlement Discussions

The plaintiff made a settlement demand for $250,000 (policy limits), but told the mediator she would accept $150,000. The defendant made an offer of $75,000, which was increased to $80,000 at the prior mediation.
