Facts

Network-1 Security Solutions Inc. filed a patent infringement lawsuit against NEC Corp. and NEC Corp. of America and other manufacturers for infringement of its Remote Power Patent. This patent related to delivering power over Ethernet cables to remotely power network connected devices.

Result

The parties agreed to a settlement wherein NEC entered into a non-exclusive license agreement for the Remote Power Patent that would expire in March 2020 and agreed to pay a license initiation fee as well as royalties.
