Facts
Salton Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of consumer products, entered into a license agreement with WRFF LLC to manufacture and distribute the WRFF Rider. The WRFF Rider was a scooter/bicycle, which was used for riding and performing tricks. Later, allegedly on behalf of Salton, WRFF agreed to sponsor a summer concert called Projekt Revolution by the band Linkin Park. WRFF participated in the tour as a "presenting sponsor" and had substantial signage as well as a demonstration area that allowed concert-goers to try the WRFF Rider. WRFF, however, did not completely pay a sponsorship fee.
Linkin Park sued Salton, and WRFF for breach of contract and fraud.
Damages
The plaintiff sought close to $1 million in damages.
Result
The court found in favor of Salton, but found WRFF liable.
Other Information
Plaintiff's counsel indicated there were some objections to the case report, but did not provide comment.
