Facts

Jennifer Joo, Lae Joo, and a minor rented an apartment owned by Chasul Kang and Hong Kang. The minor sustained a laceration on his forehead when he fell and struck a pipe sticking out of the wall. The Joos and the minor sued the Kangs claiming premise liability.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
The plaintiffs alleged that the defendants did not acquire proper building permits, failed to maintain the habitability of the premises, and declined to repair dangerous conditions.

Injuries

The plaintiffs claimed injuries that included the forehead laceration and emotional distress.
