Facts

Employees of defendants Eagle Security Service Inc., Moshen Kamel, and Lina Kamel allegedly worked longer than 40-hour work weeks without overtime wages. Plaintiff Elaine Chao, Secretary of Labor, brought an action.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
The plaintiff claimed the defendants violated provisions of the Fair Labor's Standards Act and owe employees back wages. In addition to having employees work additional hours without compensation, the defendants also failed to keep proper wage records.

Result

The plaintiffs settled for $71,011 in a consent judgment, including $64,787 for back wages and $6,223 for civil penalties.
