PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
A group of ranchers filed suit against California Department of Fish and Game, challenging the Proposition, alleging it conflicted with the authority of the federal agency Wildlife Services, a sect of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
The Humane Society of the United States, as intervenor, filed a motion for summary judgment, contending Wildlife Services' official policy called for compliance with all state and local laws, including devices used to capture and kill wildlife.
