Facts
On Oct. 17, 2010, plaintiff Lorena Figueroa was a passenger in a vehicle operated by her boyfriend. As they were making a turn, the left front side of their vehicle collided with a vehicle operated by Carolyn Shade. Figueroa sued Shade, alleging that she was negligent in the operation of her vehicle. Figueroa claimed that the vehicle she was in had the green light, while Shade ran a red light.
Shade claimed that she had a green light and that Figueroa's vehicle struck her when the vehicle swung out wide.
Damages
Figueroa sought $20,000 in damages.
Injuries
Figueroa claimed soft-tissue injuries to her neck and back.
Result
The jury found that Shade was not negligent.
