Facts
Plaintiff Nora Cofie, a former library worker claimed that her supervisor and co-workers called her African monkey more than 7,000 times (collectively, over the span of four years), a clown girl, boogie dancer and yellow people. She claimed that she complained about the harassment, but there was no record of "African Monkey" in her complaints. She claimed that they disliked her because she was from Ghana, though they are African-American. She claimed she was terminated in retaliation for her complaints.
Contentions
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
The City claimed it terminated plaintiff because plaintiff was rude, belligerent, and would repeatedly break out in laughter or mock co-workers in the library. The City also claimed that plaintiff had delusions of victimhood and refused to work.

Defense verdict on former city library employee's FEHA-retaliation and national origin discrimination suit.
