Facts
In August 1997, plaintiff Mona Kratzert, then 62 years old university librarian, went to the medical offices of the defendant Dr. Zain Kadri for purposes of a cosmetic surgery consultation. The plaintiff underwent a lower facelift/necklift three days later in the defendant's office. Post-operatively, although a substantial dispute as to the cause, the plaintiff experienced post-operative complications resulting in a substantial deformity-contracture of her neck. She subsequently underwent reconstructive surgery, which afforded some benefit, however, left her with residual contractures and substantial scarring.
