Facts

Mayra Acosta sued Indiana Pacers owner Herbert Simon and his wife Bui Simon, alleging failure to pay back wages. She was the second nanny to accuse the couple of labor violations.

Damages

Acosta sought $17,000 in back wages and other damages.

Result

On the first day of trial, Acosta dropped all her claims except for $14,000 in back pay. The jury found the claim was without merit and unanimously rendered a verdict in favor of the Simons.

Other Information

Employment claims for the former nanny and former driver were previously rejected by Superior Court Judge Amy D. Hogue who ruled that the former employees' testimonies were not credible.
