Facts

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) filed a complaint against Macy's Inc. over allegations that it failed to report to CPSC immediately, as required by federal law, that it had sold children's apparel with drawstrings that posed a strangulation hazard and other dangers, including death, to children.

Result

Macy's agreed to pay $750,000 in civil penalties.
