Facts
Plaintiff William Park attended a Halloween church event where there was a sumo wrestling attraction. Defendant Carnival Services provided the equipment and the attendants for the attraction. Plaintiff participated in one of the sumo wrestling matches and was injured.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
During the last match of the day, plaintiff William Park's protective headgear came off at the end of the first of two rounds. The attendants told plaintiff to finish the second round without the protective headgear, which appeared to have problems with the Velcro strap. During the second round, plaintiff was thrown to the ground by his opponent, landing on his head, which caused a brief loss of consciousness.
Result
The case settled for $750,000.
