Facts

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a Nov. 26, 2006 call of shots being fired at a location near plaintiff Olga Ornelas' residence. Her 15-year-old mentally disabled son was standing close to a group who appeared to be drinking. When the son walked away from the group, he failed to stop for a deputy and was detained. The son was taken to a hospital by ambulance afterward to receive medical treatment.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
The son was "shaken up" during the detention, which was witnessed by Ornelas.

Ornelas claimed $616 in medical expenses.
