Argo Group US Inc., Argo Group International Holdings Ltd., Argonaut Management Services Inc., and Alteris Insurance Services Inc. filed a lawsuit against Professional Governmental Underwriters Inc., Ronald Seymour, Michael Scholl, James Marquis, Joel Hirsch, and American Public Risk Inc.

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiffs alleged that Seymour was a former vice president of Alteris and became employed by Professional Governmental Underwriters, who plaintiff alleged was a competitor of Argo Group US and Alteris. Plaintiff further alleged that Seymour misappropriated the trade secrets of Alteris to Professional Governmental Underwriters, who knew of and encouraged such misappropriation.

Result

The court entered a stipulated final injunction order and judgment, whereby defendants were enjoined from writing or placing any Pool or SIR segment coverage incepting on or before Sept. 20, 2015 for certain accounts identified by the parties. Defendants were also enjoined from using certain documents identified by the parties. Defendants were also prohibited, prior to Dec. 31, 2015, from employing any person employed by plaintiffs.
