JJacob Rogers brought a civil rights lawsuit against The Orange County Transit Authority, Orange County, bus operator Ernestito Torres, and R. Fairweather, a supervisor of bus operators.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff alleged that while he was driving with his family, Torres was driving a bus in the next lane. Plaintiff claimed that Torres intentionally began to force the bus into plaintiff's lane and began to run plaintiff's car off the road into oncoming traffic. Plaintiff further alleged that Torres then lied to police about the incident and caused plaintiff to be arrested. The case against plaintiff was dismissed after independent witnesses supported plaintiff's version of the incident.
DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Defendants denied the allegations of plaintiff's claims.
Result
After the court dismissed some of plaintiff's claims and granted defendants' motion for summary judgment as to other claims, judgment was entered in favor of OCTA, Fairweather, and Torres.
