PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff alleged that, while walking in the parking lot of the Whittier Narrows Tennis Center, a piece of rebar protruding from a parking block caused her to trip. Plaintiff alleged that defendant caused a dangerous condition of public property by its inadequate repair of the parking block and poor lighting in the lot.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendant argued due to plaintiff's frequent trips to the tennis center she should have known the conditions of the parking blocks and could have avoided the condition.
Injuries
Plaintiff alleged injuries to her knees, including soft-tissue contusions.
Result
The parties settled the case for $24,000.
