Facts

Steven Stahlberg worked for Wells Fargo Advisors LLC. The parties entered into a Retention Award Agreement dated May 6, 2003 and a Market Manager Compensation Summary Agreement dated April 19, 2007. Wells Fargo filed an arbitration claim against Stahlberg in relation to his employment. Stahlberg counterclaimed.

Contentions

CLAIMANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Wells Fargo asserted that respondent breached the terms of the agreements.

RESPONDENT'S CONTENTIONS:
Respondent denied the allegations and asserted in his counterclaim that Wells Fargo owed him compensation.

Damages

Wells Fargo sought $28,093 under the Retention Award Agreement and $234,438 under the Market Manager Compensation Summary Agreement, plus interest. Respondent asked for $250,000.

Result

The arbitration panel awarded Wells Fargo $278,137 in compensatory damages, and denied Stahlberg's counterclaim in its entirety.
