Facts

A class action was filed against Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. and Bed Bath & Beyond of California LLC (collectively, BBB) for requesting and recording customer's personal identification information, including, but not limited to, home ZIP code, for purchasers using a credit card in violation of California Civil Code Section 1747,08 prohibiting such acts.

Result

Without admitting any wrongdoing, BBB agreed to settle the matter by providing $7 gift cards or a 15 percent discount coupon to class members. The settlement has been preliminarily approved by the Court.
