A 12,000-pound plumbing truck, which was traveling at about 55 miles per hour, rear-ended a 1993 Nissan 240SX driven by Steven Wirsz. Wirsz was rendered a quadriplegic as a result of the collision, and filed an action for product liability against Nissan North America Inc.
