Facts

Janet Kussman filed a suit against Bakersfield Health Care and Wellness center alleging elder abuse and wrongful death. Plaintiff claimed that the facility was reckless and neglected the decedent.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff contends that the decedent developed four separate infections over a three-month period, while in the care of the defendant. Plaintiff claimed that the infections caused decedent's death. In addition, plaintiff also claimed that the facility failed to provide adequate liquids that led to dehydration and poor hygiene care to decedent who was incontinent.

Result

The jury rendered a defense verdict following a three-week trial.
