Roane Holman, Narcisco Hernandez and Miguel Alvarez filed a class action against Experian Information Solutions Inc.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiffs contended that Experian, a credit reporting agency, violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act by selling consumer's credit information to Finex Group, a debt collector that was trying to collect money for towing or storage charges.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Experian denied plaintiffs' allegations.

Result

The parties agreed to settle the dispute. As part of the settlement, eligible class members were entitled to a cash payment of up to $375.
