Dennis Herrera, on behalf of the City of San Francisco, sued Michael Yaki for violations of San Francisco's lobbyist ordinance.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
In 2000, San Francisco passed the lobbyist ordinance, an ordinance aimed at bringing transparency to city government by requiring lobbyists to disclose who was paying them, and what amount they were being paid. Yaki was a former member of the Board of Supervisors who voted for the lobbyist ordinance.

Result

The parties settled for $75,000 and a promise by Yaki to register as a lobbyist and disclose all of his lobbying contacts on behalf of Rescue Air Systems.
