Facts

ActiveVideo Networks Inc. filed a patent infringement action against Verizon Communications, alleging that the Verizon FiOS television service infringed on its patents related to technology owned by ActiveVideo. A jury found that Verizon infringed the patent claims.

Result

The court issued an injunction against Verizon, directing it to cease and desist its continued, illegal utilization of ActiveVideo's intellectual property. The injunction will take effect on May 23, 2012, and the court ordered Verizon to pay $2.74 in sunset royalties per subscriber beginning on Dec. 1, 2011.
