Marianne Partridge, editor-in-chief of The Santa Barbara Independent newspaper, filed suit against publisher Randy Campbell.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Partridge alleged breach of contract, specific performance, and breach of fiduciary duty. She contended the two entered into a contract whereby Campbell agreed to sell his shares of the company to her.

Result

The court found Partridge and Campbell had a legally enforceable contract.
