Facts

On Jan. 6, 2014, plaintiff Andy Barcelo, 23, drove a motorcycle southbound on Canoga Ave. and Erwin St. in Woodland Hills. At the same time defendant drove northbound on Canoga and made a left turn to Erwin Street, striking plaintiff.

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff contended defendant made an unsafe left turn. Plaintiff claimed defendant negligently operated his vehicle and caused him bodily injury.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendant accepted liability.

Injuries

Plaintiff claimed a right middle cranial fossa subdural hematoma, right temporal skull fracture, multiple scattered abrasions over face and extremities, blood in the ear, bilateral scattered pulmonary contusions secondary to blunt injury of the chest, and bilateral pneumothoraces.

Result

The case settled for policy limits of $2,250,000.
