Delores Lee, as guardian ad litem for Demorea Ferdinand, a minor, sued Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc. and The Permanente Medical Group in connection with the child's delivery.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Lee contended that defendants' negligent medical care caused delay in the child's delivery despite days of signs and symptoms suffered by the child's motion being in labor. As a result, the child sustained catastrophic injuries.

Settlement Discussions

The parties agreed to $4 million in total settlement.

Injuries

Ferdinand suffered from severe global developmental delay. The child also suffered from spatic quadriparetic cerebral palsy, and had feeding issues. Moreover, the child suffered from hip displasia and possible visual impairment. The child also suffered from epileptic seizures among the child's many other issues.
