Facts

On July 28, 2010, at 10:45 a.m., plaintiff Patra Koonkarnkhai, was driving eastbound on Foothill at approximately 40 mph, and passed through the intersection of Grove and Foothill in Rancho Cucamonga. Just east of Grove there is a small street called Red Hill Country Club Drive. Red Hill Drive only has a stop sign where drivers are expected to yield to through traffic. Defendant failed to yield and caused an accident.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff claimed that defendant was 100 percent at fault for the accident.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendant claimed that plaintiff was 50 percent at fault for the accident.

Settlement Discussions

Plaintiff demanded $7,000. Defendant offered $4,950.

Result

Verdict for $11,500 ($4,000 economic; $7,500 general damages).
