In March 1994, plaintiff Donald Lopez, a 36-year-old police officer applied for Crimical Intelligence Officer position on Eastside Tucson Police Department. The plaintiff claimed that a less experienced, less qualified female was appointed to the position. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on sex discrimination under Title VII.
