On June 9, 1997, plaintiff April Loudenback, an 18-year-old student, was driving her 1994 Pontiac Sunbird on an offramp of the 57 Freeway in Pomona. When she stopped suddenly for traffic, her automobile was struck in the rear by an automobile driven by defendant Mei Wang. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on negligence theories of recovery.
