In the early morning hours of Nov. 16, 2010, plaintiff Sheila Albano, a 42-year-old office clerk, was in bumper-to-bumper traffic on the 605 freeway when defendant Daniel Poelstra rear-ended the plaintiff's vehicle.
The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on negligence.
The defendant claimed that the plaintiff's injuries were not related to the accident.
Injuries
The plaintiff sustained neck and lower back injuries. She continues to have neck pain and there was a recommendation for surgery, which the plaintiff refused due to obligations at home and work. However, two other doctors ruled out that this collision caused her neck injuries.
Result
The case settled for $50,000.
