Jason Poirier was driving when he stopped behind two vehicles in front of him at an intersection. While he was stopped, a vehicle operated by Vanessa Bigelow rear-ended him. Poirier sued Bigelow, alleging that she was negligent in the operation of her vehicle. He contended that she was traveling at an unsafe speed.
Bigelow conceded liability.
Injuries
Poirier claimed that his thumb was severely jarred as a result of the accident. He underwent surgery on his thumb and also experienced back and neck sprains. He was diagnosed with callus and with cervical, thoracic, and lumbar subluxation.
Result
The jury awarded Poirier $1,918 in damages.
