Stephen Krieger was appointed by his mother as trustee of his motherÆs trust to serve after her death. The
beneficiaries of the trust were StephenÆs wife, Paula Krieger, and StephenÆs niece and nephew, Jennifer Krieger
Duran and John Krieger. The trust had several million dollars worth of assets. One of those assets was a family
real estate development company in Oregon.

Settlement Discussions

Petitioners demanded $1,375,000 to settle before the binding arbitration. Respondent trustee did not make a settlement offer.

Result

The arbitrator's award was for $1,448,310 which included an award of $250,000 in attorney fees. The arbitrator ordered the removal of Stephen Krieger as trustee.

Other Information

The arbitration award was confirmed in a judgment by the Orange County Superior Court on June 27, 2001.
