The San Bernardino County Public Attorneys Association filed suit against the County of San Bernardino.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
The county implemented terms and conditions of employment on the San Bernardino County Public Attorneys Association's members, after satisfying its meet and confer obligations. The terms included eliminating the county's pick-up of a portion of its employees' member contributions to the county retirement system. The association challenged this, arguing that the terms violated the California Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
The county argued that it had acted within their rights.

Result

The court ruled in favor of the defendants and dismissed the plaintiffs' petition for writ of mandate.
