Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiffs were Lieutenants for the Police Dept. who claimed they were discriminated against through the department's promotional processes and exams. Plaintiffs claimed they were passed over for promotion in favor of less experienced and less qualified candidates. Plaintiffs claimed defendant instituted a salary cut that applied only to them. Plaintiffs also claimed their reassignment hindered their development opportunities.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Defendants denied the allegations and asserted various affirmative defenses. Defendants also moved for summary judgment.

Result

The court found in favor of defendants, granted their summary judgment motion, and entered judgment against each plaintiff.

Other Information

The trial court made factual findings weighing plaintiffs' evidence of discrimination. Plaintiffs have filed a notice of appeal.
