PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Defendant officers allegedly entered plaintiff's bedroom and proceeded to attack and beat him without provocation. Plaintiff sustained severe injuries and sued defendants for violating his civil rights. Plaintiff alleged that defendants used excessive force.
DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Defendants denied the allegations and asserted various affirmative defenses.
Injuries
Thomas claimed he dislocated his shoulder and sustained bruises and cuts to his face, neck, and head. He underwent surgeries to his shoulder and right knee.
Result
The parties reached a $35,000 settlement.
