Earl Franklin hired Claude Grenier to repair water damage and alter the drainage of his home. Grenier sued Franklin for the unpaid $4000 balance on the contract price. Franklin then sued Grenier for fraud, breach of contract, and misrepresentation.

The plaintiff accused defendant of making unnecessary repairs and failing to correct defective work.

The defendant contended plaintiff sued him to damage his reputation.

Damages

$25,000 plus unspecified amount for fraud.

Result

Defense. The court ordered plaintiff to pay half of unpaid balance and defendant's court costs. Appeal is pending.
