Contentions
PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff David Perdue alleged that police rammed his truck and accidentally shot at his vehicle during the 2013 manhunt for Dorner, who was being sought for allegedly killing three people including a police officer. Plaintiff claimed that the police mistook his vehicle for Dorner's truck. Although his truck was not the same model as Dorner's, it was similar in size and color. Plaintiff was injured as a result of the collision.
Result
The parties reached a $1.8 million settlement at a settlement conference before Magistrate Judge Michael Wilner.
